Case Study: Maggie
Meet Maggie
This special mare wiggled her way into my heart very quickly during her four week’s rehabbing with me
Her body told the story of two very full on ridden careers, both racing and then polo x. Add in a few serious injuries (an old wither fracture, sclerosis of T15-L3, pelvic trauma), and her body was running out of ways to cope, with her movement, posture and behaviour a huge reflection of this.
The try this mare has, is out of this world
Day by day we unraveled layer by layer, until we had a healthier foundation we could begin to build upon. We then began exploring different movement patterns and challenges. Could her body adapt, or did it cause her to shutdown and recruit her dominant neural pathways, that weren’t serving her for a sound, happy future?
Around the three week mark things began to fall into place for her, she began exploring her body by herself, trotting and cantering in the paddock, playing with her neighbours, I was ecstatic!
She is just a the beginning of her rehab journey, but I am so excited to see her go from strength to strength going forward
This here is exactly why I do what I do, to see horses connect back to their inner proudness is so special.
